I’m Amanda, a portrait photographer based in Basin Pocket, Ipswich, serving Brisbane and South East Queensland.
If you’ve ever felt unfamiliar in your own photos, I’m here to change that. My studio is a space for clarity and care, where we work without rushing to create headshots and portraits that feel like you. Not a polished version, but the real one.
I want you to leave with images that you love, images that you’ll actually want to use. To make that happen, my process looks a little different to what you may have seen. I don’t watch the clock. We take the time required – whether that’s forty-five minutes or several hours – for the performance to fade and for you to simply be.
Because this depth of care takes time, I only book eight sessions per month.
This means I meet you with gentle curiosity. There is no rushing, no pressure to perform, and no interruption. Just a calm, focused space where we work together until the portraits feel deeply recognisable.
I’m less interested in the version of you that you’ve been told to be, and more curious about who shows up when that noise fades. Before we begin, we can talk through your intentions or wardrobe if it helps you feel settled, but many clients prefer to arrive as they are. Whether we chat beforehand or meet for the first time on the day, I begin with fresh eyes. My goal is simply to understand what brings you here: a shift in your work, a desire to be seen clearly, or a moment of personal recognition. There are no assumptions, no expectations, and no script we need to follow.
In my Basin Pocket studio – quiet, private, and just 30 minutes from Brisbane – we create a space where the performance can fade. There is no rushing. No tight schedules. No watching the clock. We take the time you need, whether that’s forty-five minutes or several hours. I guide you through subtle adjustments in posture, expression, and energy. We aren’t trying to create a character; we are revealing the person already in front of the lens. You don’t need to know how to pose. Your job is to show up; mine is to take care of the rest.
Because every session is different, I don’t bundle a set number of images. Instead, we make that decision together. You can choose your portraits on the day while the experience is fresh, or return for a dedicated Cinematic Premiere appointment if you prefer space to reflect. Looking at yourself can feel vulnerable. I’m there to offer an objective, caring perspective – to help you see the images where you look not just “good,” but confident, interesting and recognisable.
You simply select the images that resonate. I don’t sell packages or pressure you to buy a set number. You only pay for the session retainer and the photos you truly love. Some clients need one perfect headshot for LinkedIn. Others choose a small collection for their website or a fine art print for their wall. The choice is entirely yours, based on what feels right for this moment in your life.
I am an expert in careful, natural retouching that preserves character – never plastic perfection. The goal is to make you look like yourself on your best day, not a different person. Your high-resolution digital masters are delivered promptly. If you choose to display your work, I also offer hand-crafted, signed archival prints (A4, A3, A2) printed personally in my studio.
One session per day. Eight clients per month.
Longer, unrushed sessions get the best out of us both. That’s why I limit my bookings so strictly.
It ensures my full attention is yours, from the moment you arrive until we are finished.

Short, considered notes from the studio. No noise. Just clarity.
I respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners/Custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live.
